We opened CrossFit Beverly with the belief that everyone– young, old, beginner, elite, police, fire, nurse, teacher, stay-at-home parent, doctor, artist, writer, executive, overweight, underweight, or postpartum deserved the best fitness experience.

We look forward to, and enjoy, working out. We embrace challenges knowing that we’re in an environment of people who each face their own difficulties every day. We train hard together and we celebrate each other’s accomplishments inside and outside of the Box because we all share a genuine desire to see everyone succeed.

CrossFit Classes

CrossFit Beverly offers small group training classes built upon workouts of the day, strength and conditioning and high intensity training. This style of training is designed to help you build your fitness and prepare you for every day life!

CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. We tell everyone who comes in that your health and wellness are a marathon not a sprint. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for EVERYONE— people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years.

THE WORKOUTS: The magic is in the movements. Workouts are different every day and modified to help each athlete achieve his or her goals. CrossFit workouts can be adapted for people at any age and level of fitness. The workouts are different every day and tailored to the INDIVIDUAL. Intensity levels are adjusted for all and used to challenge the individual while safely improving fitness. “The needs of our grandparents and elite athletes differ only in kind, not degree. “We all must move functionally, whether it be picking up large bag of dog food, or placinga can of soup in the pantry. Safe effective movements need to be done by everyone.

THE COMMUNITY: The CrossFit Beverly community is your support network. We sweat together, laugh together, and yes, sometimes even cry together. And when you’re a part of this community you are part of the family.

Boot Camp

At CrossFit Beverly we are putting our spin on the traditional Bootcamp. This won’t just be a run around a room style program, but rather a High Intensity workout where we will challenge your body and your mind. Workouts are one hour and consist of running drills, plyometrics, calisthenics, intervals, and much, much more but will be done in a different format each day, constantly varied, if you will. We believe in the theory that consistency along with varied high intensity workouts will achieve the best results for your overall fitness. Don’t be concerned that you must be in shape or an athlete to join our program. You CAN do it and we can help you. We don’t expect you to do more than you can, but your coach will drive you to your physical limits and help push you through. With a good attitude and best effort, results are assured and we can help you reach your fitness goals.

At the start of the program you will perform a Baseline fitness assessment to create a frame of reference, or starting point so that both you and the coach can learn where you are with your current fitness level.

The CrossFit Beverly Boot Camp Fitness Program is based on a combination of strength, gymnastics and cardiovascular exercises. Coaches keep things lively by integrating push-ups, pull-ups, squats and other strength builders with running, sprinting drills and plyometrics designed to increase speed and build cardiovascular endurance.

Your coach will challenge you to do your best each and every session. They may get a little loud in effort to make you stronger and build you up, but never with intentions to tear you down. They’ll be positive, motivating, and encouraging. There will be times you’ll want to curse the Coach during the workouts but will soon forget all about it when you start to feel and see the results.

Your success is our goal. Whether it be weight loss, to gain strength, stamina or just have more confidence in your ability and your body, CFB is an extremely positive and motivating environment and the best resource for achieving a higher level of fitness on the south side.

Speed Lab

The Speed Lab program is a unique alternative to the traditional treadmill studio. We use the Assault Air Runner which has no motor or speed control; you are the motor and you control your speed. Our program takes the reactionary process of pressing a button to speed up or slow down and puts you in charge of your tempo, pace and speed.

The program is a combination of Air Runner intervals paired with floor exercises. Our floor exercises are a combination of calisthenics, core strengthening and weight training which may incorporate resistance bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls or sandbags. While the energy and tempo are high you move at your pace. That is part of the uniqueness of the Air Runners; you are in charge and you move at YOUR pace. Our approach to Speed Lab is much like our approach CrossFit; constantly varied, functional training at high intensity. Classes are 50 minutes long and no two sessions are the same. You will be amazed at how far you will run in the class and how many calories you will burn. There is no other program quite like it on the South Side.

On-Ramp

CrossFit Beverly recommends athletes new to CrossFit to enter through our On-Ramp clinic. On-Ramp will introduce new participants to the 9 foundational exercises used in CrossFit (Squat, Front Squat, Overhead Squat, Shoulder Press, Push Press, Push Jerk, Deadlift, Sumo Deadlift High Pull, and Medicine Ball Clean) as well as familiarize you with CrossFit vernacular and exercises incorporated in a typical CrossFit WOD (Workout of the Day.)

The On-Ramp clinic is a 10 day 1-on-1 program which prepares (ramps you up) you for regular CrossFit sessions. We emphasize skill development and exposure to basic movements which are foundational to CrossFit and life. We introduce participants to technique and mechanics before intensity. The intensity will come, but we need to assure proper body movement to provide safety for you, the participant. The movements at first are relatively non-technical (a solid foundation)and we progress daily to more advanced and complex. We emphasize participants need to show up for all 10 classes as the daily sessions compound upon each other. We spend much of the hour working on skill development and to get the participant fluid with the movements and then we practice what we learned with a WOD at the end of the session.

Personal Training

Private training is suited for a wide variety of clients with more specific needs or attention. All of our private training follows the CrossFit methodology and principles to improving overall fitness of our members and clients.

CrossFit Kids

WHAT IS CROSSFIT KIDS?

CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, it is designed for a special population and the specific developmental needs of that population (neurological, cognitive, motor).

Since 2004, CrossFit Kids has been Forging The Future Of Fitness and is currently in over 400 gyms in North America, Australia, Europe, Africa, India, Japan and Panama. CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for kids and teenagers and helps them develop a lifelong love of fitness.In a group setting, children and teens participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well- rounded athletes. With a network of over 2000 CrossFit Kids Trainers, CrossFit Kids is being implemented in preschools to high schools with before-and-after school programs and integration into Physical Education curriculum. CrossFitKids.com contains thousands of archived workouts, video demonstrations and informative articles that provide interested parents or teachers with a foundation for understanding how the CrossFit Kids program can be implemented at home or at school.

CrossFit Kids workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scaleable for any participant at any level.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

This means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so kids and teens never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating.

The functional movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things that kids need to do when they play: pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of thoroughly trained CrossFit Kids Trainers.

When fitness is defined as broad, inclusive and general it means that participants will become well-rounded athletes who will be better at any and every sport that they play because CrossFit Kids doesn’t coach them to be good at just one thing.

Our workouts will increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

With workouts that are scalable, CrossFit Kids can equally benefit a person who is less active or an accomplished athlete by tailoring workouts so that each participant is challenged just enough to deliver measurable results and personal athletic progress.

Nutrition Coaching

Our Nutrition Coaching Program is unique and is designed to provide individuals with an easy, science-based approach to nutrition while creating positive change without the stress of “dieting”. Led bu our licensed nutrition coach, not only do we create a plan of food intake we also look at and assess activity levels, possible lifestyle changes, and sleep patterns to help build better habits. This is not a cookie cutout approach but an individualized plan. Our program tries to guide the individual how to make real world decisions and understand trade-offs depending what your end goal is. Dialing in your nutrition for overall performance is crucial and it can be as simple as building a better relationship with food that will be the gateway to reaching your goals and achieve top performance.

We don’t just guide individuals to lose weight – we help with specific goals you are looking to achieve. If you want to perform better in the gym we look at the current activity level and create a plan.

Want better sleep?

We assess sleep patterns and eating habits and suggest adjustments where needed.

We offer a macro counting based program tailored to you. Or we offer a more detailed program that includes macro counting and a full meal plan guide with recipes. All programs require an 8 week introductory commitment which then can be continued in 4 week increments.

We provide weekly check-ins, individualized macro counting plans, and access to your coach via email/text for any questions that may arise. Accountability and feedback are the core of our nutrition coaching. Change isn’t just about the information, it is about developing sustainable strategies and habits to help you stay disciplined and maintain the program on your own.

Couch to CrossFit

To share the CrossFit Beverly experience, we offer an opportunity for anyone interested in trying CrossFit to join us for free to any scheduled CrossFit class.

Days are busy; office, carpool, carting kids to extracurricular activities, meetings, etc., can get in the way of your workout. And trying a new gym can be especially difficult and stressful. We understand. This is precisely why we offer this program. By joining us for any of our eight sessions held on Tuesdays (5 am, 6 am, 7 am, 9 am, 10 am, 4 pm, 6 pm, and 7 pm), we take the challenge out of trying a new program and are eager to share our program with you.

The intimidation factor of a CrossFit gym (Box) can be profound. We want to take the anxiety out of the equation, that is why we are inviting everyone to join us for a sample of our unique approach to training and fitness. We are your friends and neighbors; our kids go to school together, we go to church together, and you see us at community events and the grocery store. The only difference is we have found a fitness program which challenges us physically, keeps us healthy and makes us feel better all in a group setting which is unique to anything you have tried before.

Your Free CrossFit Beverly experience will begin by meeting your coach and the other athletes attending your class. We will then get you warmed up, put you through some skill training and then walk you through your workout (WOD.) You will experience how a traditional CrossFit session is run by a professional CrossFit trainer; you will be shown how we can scale (refine exercises to adapt to less conditioned athlete’s needs) and modify any of our posted workouts (WOD’s) to accommodate every athlete’s ability. And you will workout side by side with CrossFitters of all abilities. The session lasts an hour, and it will be the best thing you will have done all day.
