CF Kids:JV(6-12 years)11:00-11:35
I hope everyone had a peaceful and enjoyable Thanksgiving and we are all ready to get back at it leading into the Christmas rush. Try and find that 1 hour a day where you can pop into the Box and be sure to take care of your health and well being during this hectic season. It is easy to skip the gym, but it is also important to not let your hard work over the year fall to the wayside.
For those who didn’t see or get my email announcement last week I want to include it here today too:I am pleased and honored to announce Shawn Coffey has taken a full time position here at CFB. Shawn will be leaving his teaching position with CPS to take the role of General Manager and Coach here at CrossFit Beverly. Although Shawn has already been fulfilling many duties, his official start date will be Monday December 5th. Shawn will be your go to source for any questions, concerns or issues you may have in regards to operations at the box.
Shawn and I share a lot of the same values, this is why making this offer was a no-brainer. I appreciate Shawn’s work ethic, management skills, and his enthusiasm working with you guys. My vision for CFB’s excellence and growth is a vision shared by Shawn too. I can’t think of a better person to help me pursue excellence. Through innovation and the collaboration of ideas I truly believe we will keep CFB relevant in the ever growing and competitive fitness industry here on the South Side. We have a lot of big things on the horizon and I am eager to share them as they get put in place.
I have been leaning on Shawn in an advisory position for some time. Some of you may recall, back in the early summer Shawn accompanied me to Boston for a CrossFit Business of Excellence program, where we were mentored in ways to improve operation and create systems to make CFB the best it can be. This trip was the beginning of the process of getting Shawn on board, plus over the months since returning from Boston Shawn, Chris and I have been planning and preparing for this exciting time. I look forward to the time ahead working with Shawn to put systems in place to allow CFB to grow while giving you, our membership, the greatest experience and continuing to grow this amazing community and share it with Beverly/Morgan Park/Mt. Greenwood and surrounding suburbs.
I will still be heavily involved in operations and programming along with all executive decisions and janitorial duties. But I am a firm believer there are many other good ideas out there other than mine and I strongly believe in the process of collaboration. Bringing Shawn on board affords us a person for you to go when needed, and a person for me to bounce ideas off for what we think is best for CFB.
So please join me in congratulating Shawn when you see him and know Shawn genuinely has your best interest first. You can contact Shawn at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be starting a new On-Ramp group next Monday December 5, 2016 @ 6:00pm. If you brought a buddy and want them to join us please share this info so they can get started. They can click here, and then click the “ON-RAMP” tab, then follow the prompts to get signed up. We hope to see many familiar faces next week.
The 6th annual CrossFit Beverly Holiday/Anniversary Party will be held Saturday December 10 @ 6:00pm. The menu is set and the booze is ordered. This is our annual “Thank You” as well as a celebration looking forward to another great year at CFB. Please mark your calander and plan to attend. We have sent out invitations on both Faebook and through email. We hope to see everyone, even if it’s just a pop in to say hello, and raise a glass to another great year ahead. If you plan to attend please comment to this post. In preparation for the party we will only be offering Boot Camp Saturday morning.
“Bring A Buddy” Tuesday has proven to be very successful. Since we have begun the program we have seen 28 visitors and have had 12 join CFB. Please continue to share with your friends and family to have them join us the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Our next “Bring a Buddy” will be this Tuesday December 6. Guests do not need a chaperone and can attend any hour they are available. The workouts on these days will still be challenging to you all, our experienced athletes. However these workouts are easily scaled to all abilities no matter what their physical condition is. If you see the ad on Facebook pease like and share to spread the word. As this is now the new norm we trust you will continue to be the welcoming and inclusive group you have always been. So, If you see some new faces please introduce yourself and try and make them feel at home. We have all had our first day at the Box and it can certainly be an intimidating place.
Our Rogue order has come in and I have seen some smiles as big as kids at Christmas. We will continue to add to the list of other necessary items. In the meantime you will see some reconfigurations to the Rig allowing for more Bar Muscle up stations as well as some requested lower bars and 6 more Wall Ball stations to accommodate both Men and Women target heights.

We are having great success with filling the The Soles for Souls box next to the gray “casting couch” Thank You! We have already shipped seven boxes. If you have old runnning shoes or other athletic shoes, you may drop them in the box. Thanks and keep ’em coming.
TO ALL PARENTS!!! Before leaving the box, if you bring children, please look around the area your children were in. If you brought with them chips, crackers, pretzels or other snacks; If you they got a cup of water; If they had paper, crayons or markers out; If they went in to the back and grabbed balls or jump ropes, if they turned on the TV to watch a movie, please clean up after them. We have brooms and dust pans in the laundry room. Please respect the coaches and staff to not have to clean up after your children. Much like you clean up your gear after a workout we would appreciate the same with the children.
