January On-Ramp Begins January 11th.
With the New Year arriving, resolutions are abound. The biggest is weight loss. That is the same amongst CFB athletes as it is outside of the Box. Many of you exclaim that you need/want accountability. You need/want that push of friends and allies to keep you on the straight and narrow, so lets do just that! Beginning Monday January 11 we will offer a 60 day Team Challenge. Teams will be selected the weekend of Jan 8. For those who have already taken the hydrostatic body mass test, you may use that data. For those who want to join the challenge we have Danny from Gold Standard Testing bringing the truck back Wednesday January 6 between 3-8pm. Cost for test is $49 and this really is the best and most accurate way to test outside of a hospital setting. This will be our only source for record keeping of body measurement, so please be sure to sign up if you are interested in joining the challenge. Spots fill up fast, so sign up early to assure you get in and the time you want. Click here to sign up.
The program will be teams of 4 with 3 variables for points. Attendance, re-test performance of a scheduled WOD from Day 1, Best percentage of body composition change. I will post a sign up sheet this week if you are interested. We will build teams of 2 girls/2 guys and to make it interesting each team member must pitch in $40 with a winner take all pot of cash and prizes. We have PJ here at the box now helping us with nutrition and if you don’t already have it, the “Eat to Perform” app is a fantastic way to track your macros and keep you honest. You can even share you data with your team for additional accountability.
The Double Under clinic sign up is live. Click here to register. I would be thrilled to see many of you master your Double Unders as a New Year Resolution and start using them in WODs. The clinic will be held Sunday February 21 at 9:00am, which will be 1 week before the CrossFit Open. What better time to learn DUs then just before the Open? Cost is $50 per athlete, $80 if you want to add a custom rope and the clinic is 3 hours. Rx Smart Gear requires a minimum of 12 athletes, so if we can not fill the minimum they will not attend. I am only sharing this as I do not set these standards and am not responsible if they do not come.
As it is winter and the potential for snow and slush please bring an indoor pair of shoes so not to track in salt and muck from the outside onto the gym floor. Wet, salty shoes wreaks havoc on the rowing machine foot pegs, the rubber floor and everyone’s clothing when they drop down in a puddle of someone else’s shoe muck. Also the floor when wet can be incredibly slippery. Thanks for your cooperation.
Thanks to all of you who are “liking” the daily web posts on Facebook. It really is working and we are now reaching 400-500 of you a day which is a great boost. People have been telling us they are now getting the WOD posts on Facebook to come up on their newsfeed. This is great news, so please continue so we can expand our reach and share with the area our program. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
We sent out an email blast for a promo on our On-Ramp for January and February. We will also follow this up with a Facebook promo. We hope you have shared with your friends and if not, please do. The discount is for 20% off On-Ramp if preregistered or prepaid by January 1. They can click here press the “ON-RAMP” tab and follow prompts. Preregister to guarantee their spot, get the discount, and not pay until the first day of On-Ramp. Cost is $156, discounted from $195. January’s On-Ramp will begin Monday January 11 and February’s will begin Monday February 8.
