Thank you to all who popped in, to those who stayed the duration, and everyone in between to celebrate the anniversary of CFB and ring in holiday cheer Friday evening/Saturday morning. We genuinely hope you all had as good of a time as we had hosting you. We are so pleased that we are able to present such an event to show our gratitude to all of you, the community of CFB. As I said to many of you Friday evening, these events don’t happen without you and your staunch support of our mission and your physical health. Again, thank you!

With the New Year arriving, resolutions are abound. The biggest is weight loss. That is the same amongst CFB athletes as it is outside of the Box. So, I am thinking a challenge in the New Year is needed. For those who have already taken the hydrostatic body test you can use that data as your starting point. For those who did not take it, but want in on the challenge, Danny with Gold Standard Testing has agreed to bring the truck back Wednesday January 6 for more measurements. The caveat to this challenge, is we will do teams of 4 with a winning team take all of cash and prizes. There will be a draft day for participants. As a team member your scores will have a direct impact on the teams success. So for those looking for accountability, this is a tremendous example of you being a vital component in your teams outcome. I will have more details coming up, but in the meantime consider jumping in for a fresh start in the New Year.
We have been approached by Rx Smart Gear (The makers of many of your jump ropes) to have us host a Double Under Clinic. I would be thrilled to see many of you master your Double Unders as a New Year Resolution and start using them in WODs. The clinic will be held February 20 or 21, which will be 1 week before the CrossFit Open. What better time to learn DUs then just before the Open? Cost is $50 per athlete and the clinic is 3 hours. Rx Smart Gear requires a minimum of 12 athletes, so if we can not fill the minimum they will not attend. I am only sharing this as I do not set these standards and am not responsible if they do not come.
With potential for snow and slush (although you wouldn’t believe it this weekend!)please bring an indoor pair of shoes so not to track in salt and muck from the outside onto the gym floor. Wet, salty shoes wreaks havoc on the rowing machine foot pegs, the rubber floor and everyone’s clothing when they drop down in a puddle of someone else’s shoe muck. Also the floor when wet can be incredibly slippery. Thanks for your cooperation.
Thanks to all of you who are “liking” the daily web posts on Facebook. It really is working and we are now reaching 400-500 of you a day which is a great boost. People have been telling us they are now getting the WOD posts on Facebook to come up on their newsfeed. This is great news, so please continue so we can expand our reach and share with the area our program. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
