Rest Day/Box Closed
The Turkey Bowl was a great time. Muddy conditions made for a slip sliding event that had lots of scoring doe to difficult footing. The PM came out again on top with a 63-49 victory over the AM. Thanks to all who came out and played and an even bigger thanks to those who came to cheer and support.
Evites have gone out to members to join us for our 5th Annual Holiday/Anniversary Party. The event will be Friday December 11 at 6:00pm. Please check your email and RSVP at your earliest convenience. We would like to get an accurate head count for the caterer. We are going to go a different route this year and have Portillo’s cater the event. We will supply booze, wine and beer, but if you have something you especially like feel free to bring it. We look forward to seeing all of you there. Even if you have other plans, please pop in for a second and raise a glass with us. Thanks!
With the New Year arriving, resolutions are abound. The biggest is weight loss. That is the same amongst CFB athletes as it is outside of the Box. So, I am thinking a challenge in the New Year is needed. For those who have already taken the hydrostatic body test you can use that data as your starting point. For those who did not take it, but want in on the challenge, Danny with Gold Standard Testing has agreed to bring the truck back the beginning of January for more measurements. The caveat to this challenge, is we will do teams of 4 with a winning team take all of cash and prizes. There will be a draft day for participants. As a team member your scores will have a direct impact on the teams success. So for those looking for accountability, this is a tremendous example of you being a vital component in your teams outcome. I will have more details coming up, but in the meantime consider jumping in for a fresh start in the New Year.
With the snow and slush please bring an indoor pair of shoes so not to track in salt and muck from the outside onto the gym floor. Wet, salty shoes wreaks havoc on the rowing machine foot pegs, the rubber floor and everyone’s clothing when they drop down in a puddle of someone else’s shoe muck. Also the floor when wet can be incredibly slippery. Thanks for your cooperation.
Thanks to all of you who are “liking” the daily web posts on Facebook. It really is working and we are now reaching 400-500 of you a day which is a great boost. People have been telling us they are now getting the WOD posts on Facebook to come up on their newsfeed. This is great news, so please continue so we can expand our reach and share with the area our program. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
