Join our group in Oakbrook today as we “Fight for Air” Stair climb. Proceeds go to the American Lung Association. Our heat is at 8:55am. We will meet at the Box at 7:15 and carpool by 7:30am. If you didn’t sign up but want to participate, you can register on site.
18 days until the announcement of The CrossFit Games Open WOD 15.1. As I have said over and over again, this is such a great time of year for CrossFit athletes. A time to test our abilities and challenge ourselves to dig deep within ourselves to push harder then we would on a regular WOD and see just how we as individuals stack up in the global movement of the CrossFit Open. We have 18 athletes already signed up. We are 178 strong so I hope against hope this number is going to climb exponentially. Sweat pants are in and available in front of the box with all other merchandise. $40 and they are a unisex sizing. We will be ordering a few Charcoal gray hoodies, not the marled ones we have in stock if anyone wants one. This will be a custom run and we will not be holding inventory, so if you want one please reply to “comments’ here.
We are proud to be a host gym again for the Fourth Annual Workout to Wipeout Domestic Violence. We have been involved with A.N.D and the Morgan Park Juniors since they started this event and we will continue to support this noble cause as long as the run it and invite us to participate. The date is Saturday March 21. While we will be doing the Open WOD, we would appreciate a $25 donation.
We are going to shake up the schedule a little in the next few weeks. We will be turning 5pm into a Boot Camp. While we haven’t established the exact starting date, we will keep you informed. This change will not effect any of our current membership. No increase for attending. The session will be geared to an audience who may not want to lift barbells or learn Olympic lifts. It will be an hour of programming using plyo work, kettlebells, med balls and met con. Please share with your non-CFB friends who may be intimidated by CrossFit, but want a good workout using CrossFit methodology sans barbells and heavy lifting. If this session proves to be successful we will consider introducing an AM version.
