Day 23 of Paleo Challenge
Open Gym 9:30-11:30
Yoga with Nicole
News/Notes:
Today is the first day to sign up for the CrossFit Games Open. We really hope you consider signing up on http://games.crossfit.com/2013-registration and being a part of the CFB Team. Weather you are just doing it for fun or you really would like to compete on a squad in Regionals, this is a great opportunity to see how you measure against every other CF athlete in the world or narrow it to North Central Region and see how you compare with them.
We are going to begin Wednesday evening Open Gym, 6 pm to 8 pm. This may evolve to a regularly scheduled WOD on Wednesdays but for now we are opening up starting next Wednesday Feb 6th. I know you evening folks have been missing out and we now think it is time to allow you some free time too. However, On-Ramp is still in the box Wednesday evenings. They get priority on equipment and space. Please be conscientious to their needs. Thanks
Beverly Bakery has been kind enough to ask about our dietary wants and needs. They notice we never take the potatoes and toast, I was asked by Jim why this was and I explained paleo to him a little bit. I did mention we love sweet potatoes and we would love to see them on the menu in a hash. Well our request has been granted. Starting this weekend they will be incorporating Sweet Potato Hash in a skillet. They have asked us, however, what kind of skillets we would like to see on the menu. I mentioned the chorizo skillet that already exists, the meat lovers skillet and the veggie skillet, however he wants eve more feedback. Please post to comments ASAP what kind of skillet you would like to see on the menu. Like I said he is moving fast on this and plans on having them available this weekend. WooHoo, we are starting to make an impression on the neighborhood. You guys rock!
This Saturday Feb 2 is the CrossTown SlamDown with Doghouse CrossFit. The WOD is Fight Gone Bad and the top 10 scores will determine which box reigns supreme for Northside/Southside supremacy. The doors will open at 8 for warm up and mobility. Heats will begin at 9:45 after instructions and will run every 25 minutes until everyone has completed the WOD. We are going to limit the heat assignments to 10 athletes per heat plus their respective judges. We expect this to be a 3 hour event so plan accordingly as we hope you stick around to see who gets to hoist Glassman’s Cup. If you want to bring paleo snacks and/or beverages we can make a morning of it.
We are going to have a Paleo Potluck in honor of the halfway point of the Paleo Challenge. Saturday Feb 9th after the WOD. We will post a sign up sheet so you can post the dish you plan to bring so we don’t have redundancy. Please plan on attending and sharing the dish that you are most pleased with so far. Nat Winters is trying to spearhead a Pig Roast, we will keep you posted on this.
Bowling seems to have triggered some interest. We will look into renting some lanes at Bleeker Bowl. I will post a sign up sheet for dates that work for the largest group. We are thinking a Friday or Saturday evening.

sweet potato hash is great. any skillet with fresh veggies and meat works for me.. Can you request they use coconut oil or olive oil when cooking the crossfit skillets?
How about a skillet with Skirt steak, or flank steak, red and green peppers, tomatoes, etc.
They do have a great selection of vegetables already…….another good option for omelettes/skillets would be avocado……you should get them to put you on the menu “Try it CFB style!” (sweet potatoes, fruit, no toast)
