Active Rest

I will be swimming and running this morning at Ohio St Beach (Olive Park) if anyone wants to join some friends and I for a morning of triathlon training.  1 mile swim followed by a 3 mile run up the bike path to North Ave beach.  We will be there at 10 if anyone is interested.  Otherwise think about doing something other then lifting or CrossFit.  We have a heavy day tomorrow followed by “Luck 13″ on Friday, so take today as an opportunity to rest those joints and muscles and just do something different.

News/Notes:

There will be NO OPEN GYM this Sunday July 15th.  we are going on a bike ride to Grand Beach from Grant Park Saturday with an overnight event planned that will keep us there into Sunday.  Thanks for your understanding.

The CrossFit Games are this weekend.  We will have a tv streaming ESPN3 Friday afternoon starting at 2 pm if you want to hang at the box and watch.  You can also watch on your own computer via streaming on ESPN3.

The Paleo Challenge is getting shored up and details are being finalized.  We will offer 3 dates for participants to come in for measurements, pictures and the WOD.  There will be a $10 buy in with a male and female splitting the winnings.

Mudathon team members, we will carpool to Valpo Saturday morning July 21st.  Our heat is at 10:45 but we should be at the park by 9ish for packet pick up and time for mobility and warm up.  We should meet at the box at 8 and figure how many cars we need and who wants to drive.  Tell any friends who aren’t CFBer who are also going to met us and share details.

Saturday July 28 is our team swim WOD at Alsip pool. 121st and Kostner.  We get into the park at 10 and have until noon to do our WOD.  We are welcome to stay after the pool opens at noon if we would like to stick around and enjoy the pool.  Please bring your families and let them witness your hard work in a WOD.  Please consider joining us if you are on the fence.  CrossFit is all about trying new sport.  This is a perfect opportunity to do just that outside your comfort zone.

We currently have 2 groups of On-Rampers 9 a.mers and 7 p.mers.  If you see any new athletes or unfamiliar faces, say hello and make them welcome.  Thanks.
